Evanescent

Description

The light shimmered in his eye.
Born to swim, and yet all he could do is watch as the sea passed him by. There he sat, alone but not afraid; for time has rusted his fear.

It was a shadow, a figure drifting through the seas.
And there, his arms threw themselves out.
They lunged towards that shadow, a figure drifting through the waters.
He held, oh he held. A tight grip, a firm clutch. He watched as the light shone on the figure, a lifeless body yet still so warm.
He held that body in his arms and there he closed his eyes, his soul reaching for the remnants of what was once a life once broken.
